Trend Micro, through its enterprise division TrendAI, announced a strategic partnership with Anthropic aimed at expanding AI security capabilities using Claude models and strengthening automation, threat research, and AI-native security operations.
Claude models will power the TrendAI™ platform across multiple areas, including:
- automated security workflows,
- agentic security operations,
- vulnerability research,
- AI risk detection,
- accelerated incident response.
The goal of TrendAI™ is not only to identify new types of vulnerabilities, but also to coordinate autonomous mitigation measures that reduce real-world risks in enterprise environments. The partnership also reflects a broader shift in cybersecurity: traditional SIEM and SOC models are no longer sufficient to respond effectively to the scale and speed of AI-generated attacks, pushing organizations toward more intelligent and autonomous security architectures.
Rachel Jin, Chief Platform and Business Officer and Head of TrendAI™, described the partnership as the next phase in building a dedicated AI security category:
“We built TrendAI™ to define the AI security category. This next phase is about scaling that vision globally alongside leaders like Anthropic.”
One of the key focus areas of the collaboration will be expanding AI threat research through initiatives such as:
- Zero Day Initiative
- Pwn2Own
TrendAI™ plans to use AI models to identify weaknesses in AI systems before they are deployed into production. The company is also building on experience gained from events such as Pwn2Own Berlin, where researchers regularly uncover critical vulnerabilities in modern technologies.
According to Anthropic, the partnership represents an important step toward empowering defenders in an era of increasing AI-driven attacks. Ash Alhashim, Head of Cybersecurity GTM at Anthropic, stated:
“TrendAI™ is advancing the next generation of vulnerability discovery and reporting — tipping the scales in favor of defenders.”
The partnership between TrendAI™ and Anthropic further demonstrates that AI security is rapidly evolving from an add-on capability into a standalone market category. As enterprises continue adopting generative AI, pressure is growing around:
- protecting AI models,
- securing AI infrastructure,
- monitoring AI agents,
- preventing prompt injection attacks,
- protecting sensitive data.
With this move, TrendAI™ is positioning itself strategically ahead of the expected consolidation of the AI security market around hyperscalers and major cloud providers.
